What Will Regular Massage Therapy Do For You?

Image
Massage therapy has many long-term benefits. It's a beautiful weekday, and instead of working your day job, you would probably love a massage now; but massage therapy has many benefits beyond the moment. Regular, consistent massages of different varieties can impact your long-term health. Here's how: Improve Blood Circulation Effleurage may sound like a funny word, but it's a beneficial massage technique that allows your therapist to pinpoint pressure areas that stimulate blood vessels in your body. A higher level of blood circulation is associated with a healthy heart, strong cognitive skills, and increased stamina and endurance. Deep tissue massages also assist you in these areas, primarily if they are performed regularly. Lower Heart Rate Because movements against the skin stimulate blood circulation, your heart isn't working as hard to regulate your body's needs, and your heart rate will decrease. Massage therapy is much like exercise for your mus

Stay Fresh-Faced This Month

Stay Fresh-Faced This Month There are so many different tips and tricks to keeping that gorgeous glow about you throughout the changing seasons. We know that Ohio's ever-changing weather can be brutal to keep up with, too, and our skin really goes through it sometimes. That's why we thought we would share some of our tips for staying fresh-faced this month! Moisturize! Our first tip is a simple one, but it can really make a difference in your skin. If you focus on moisturizing before bed, that's one of the best times for your skin to soak in all of that goodness while you sleep. As you're sleeping, your face relaxes, and your muscles lose their tension enough for the moisturizing to get where you need it to. Then in the morning, putting moisturizer or a great primer before applying your makeup is also a significant step. Your skin will be so soft, and thank you for this extra care! Does your skin look tired? Have you noticed a few more dark spots lately? Give Vitamin C

New Nail Trends: Spring 2022

Image
Spring is one of the most exciting seasons to try cool nail art or a new style, so it's no surprise you've likely been seeing interesting designs all over your social media pages. If you're like us, you'll want to join in on the fun! So, what's trending right now? Here's an overview:  1. Colored French Tips We're loving this twist on the original white French nail tips! Not only does this trend adopt different colors--from pastel to neon--it takes on a new nail shape as well. The original French tip design usually consists of a squared shape, but we're seeing more almond, oval, and stiletto French looks this spring. 2. Swirl Nail Art  In the past month, many have ditched clean, solid paint styles for abstract or swirly distinct nail art. Funky colored lines and shapes are on the trend; you can hardly avoid daily photos of fresh, new designs that use spring colors in an interesting way; we can't say we mind!   3. Earthy Greens Spring brings new life,

Unique Massage Options You may be familiar with traditional massage methods such as deep tissue, hot stone, or chair massages. At Bankz Salon, we constantly break norms, from brightly colored hairstyles to gorgeous manicures. We do everything unique to the client and truly care about you. Something we do differently is our massage options; we offer a variety of services that you may not be able to receive elsewhere. One of our more unique massage methods is our aroma touch/raindrop therapy. This method works by mixing different massage types and dropping essential oils on our client's spine and feet in a specific sequence to relax the body and promote relaxation.  When you leave this appointment, you will find that your body and mind will feel at ease, relaxed, and refreshed. As appealing and relaxing as this sounds, the benefits are just as good as the mentioned main factors. For instance, many essential oils are good for supporting your immune system and soothing inflammation an

Experiment With A New Manicure      Have you ever heard of a powder dip manicure? It is unlikely you have. A powder dip manicure might be all you would ever want out of a nail service. It is stronger than traditional gel polish, lasts long as an acrylic set does, and does not ruin your nails the way alternative manicures do! The process is much faster than any of the other manicure methods. It starts off as any other service would with the smoothing and cutting of the nail, caring for your cuticles, and shaping the nail. Before applying the powder, there should be an application of a clear base coat. Then the fun begins, there are several colors to choose from, and once you decide, we will simply dip your finger into the fine powders, brush the excess off, and repeat this process until the nail is completely covered and hardened. When we are done, we apply a gel clear coat to seal it and send you on your way!  As mentioned, this manicure lasts way longer than any other traditional ma

Winter Skin Care Tips

Image
We are in that yucky part of winter where bitter cold is the norm, and the air is DRY! How do you keep your skin looking supple when the weather is fighting against you every step of the way? Here are a few tips to keep you looking glowy and fresh during the dark, dreary days. 1. Don't cleanse too often!     Of course you want to be clean, but taking too many hot showers or baths deprives your skin of natural oils. When you wash your face, use warm, not hot water! 2. Add moisture to your home.     Get yourself a humidifier to add some moisture to the oh-so-dry air in your home. You'll notice the difference and your lungs will be happier too! 3. Moisturize from the inside out.     DRINK. YOUR. WATER. Enough said. 4. Change the formula of your cleansers.     Get a cleanser that is more moisturizing, especially if you are used to formulas with glycolic acid or other acne-fighting ingredients. 5. Pamper your skin!     Take a trip to the spa and get your whole body pampered! If you

Proper Summer Skincare Tips

Having a regular skin care routine is important for the look and health of your skin, but how do you keep up with the constant changing of the seasons and the affect it has on your skin? Summertime brings on a whole different set of rules when it comes to keeping your skin healthy and glowing and luckily, we know some tips to help you out if you are struggling like the rest of us.  Tip 1: Wear Sunscreen     We know you hear this from everyone, but it really is a vital step in your skin care routine. Experts recommend that you use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF levels of 30 or higher on all exposed skin. Whether or not you are putting on a full face of makeup or just going natural for the day, you will want to make sure that applying your sunscreen is the last step of your routine that morning and that you consistently reapply throughout the day. This will keep you fully protected from those UV rays while you are finishing your tasks for the day.  Tip 2: Lighten Your Skin Car
